Fisker today named its importer for the European market, where it now plans to sell more than half of the units of its Karma hybrid plug-in sedan. Nellemann Holding AS will distribute Fisker’s first car to Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Shipments of the Karma to Europe will begin later in 2009.
Fisker’s first overseas importer, Fisker Italia, was setup earlier this year. The company plans on building 15,000 units of the Karma annually and says that it has already received more than 800 orders from the overseas market.
Fisker has yet to give out solid details on the technical specs of the Karma, but has said that the car can do 50 miles on battery alone. 0-60 is expected come in 5.8 seconds.
Currently Fisker says that 44 domestic retailers have shown interest to sell the Karma in the U.S. The Karma will debut on the stateside in the second quarter of 2009.
