First of all how does Google Street View work? Google teamed up with Immersive Media that basically drives around capturing live view of local streets for Google Maps. A 360-degree swivel camera is mounted on top of a car while it drives around capturing live images of business, landmarks and sometimes, accidents and gun fights.

Currently Immersive Media has more than 40,000 miles of footage in North America and plans on going global.

Recently, the Google and Immersive Media were pulled over by cops. The reason remains unknown but it’s interesting nonetheless. We’re just left wondering if this image will find its way on Google Street View.

Google collect their own imagery now and do not use any cameras or images from Immersive Media supposedly because of poor quality and large file sizes and its cheaper to do it themselves. Immersive Media only used VWs so your picture is definitely not an Immersive vehicle.
