According to AutoZeitung, Audi is working on an X1 rival to be called the Q1.The Audi Q1, which will be built on the Audi A1 platform, is expected to arrive by the end of 2012. The platform, known as the PQ24, is a strengthened version of the next-generation Volkswagen Polo’s platform.

The Audi Q1 will measure 3.95 meters long with a coupe style body. Power will range from a 1.4L TFSI 4-cylinder that produces 125-hp and a turbocharged variant that produces 150-hp. A rang-topper 200-hp model is also expected. For the Europeans, Audi will offer two diesel versions of the Q1 including a 1.2 liter TDI that produces 80-hp and a 1.6 liter TDI that produces up to 119-hp.
