The upcoming 2009 Ford Ka should be seen as a prime example that FoMoCo can be successful at producing a sold compact car. An AutoSwiat reader recently caught two Ford Ka’s hanging outside an Alfa Romeo dealership to go testing on the road with its platform friend, the Fiat 500.
Power for the 2009 Ford Ka is expected to come from a choice of 1.2L producing 63-hp, 1.4L producing 100-hp and a 1.3L Multijet diesel producing 75-hp and returning a fuel-economy of more than 42mpg. While there is no official word as of yet, Ford is said to be working on ST performance version for the SportKa that will be powered by a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine producing 150-hp.
The 2009 Ford Ka will be built alongside the Fiat 500 at Fiat’s Tychy, Poland plant.
