We have no idea where these spy shots came from, but we were tipped by Tim over at Camaro5. Apparently what you see here are the first shots of the Subaru/Toyota rear-wheel-drive coupe that is due out on the market by 2011. From what we see in the pictures, there will be a little hint of the Subaru Legacy.

Power will come from a 2.0 liter boxer engine that produces 220-hp and will be mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Engineers are modifying Subaru’s 4WD platform to create a new rear-wheel-drive architecture.

Pricing is expected to be under $20,000.

    From the article:

This, my friends, is a winner. About time someone made something the people will want for a price that won't require you to put a second mortgage on your hosue.

It is shorter than I thought. I am soooo excited. It is hard to see the details but I really like the cropped rear end and the coupe profile. The slight Legacy look on the nose is also cool. This project seems to be moving fast. I wonder if it has been around longer than we all have known.
