It is hard work for these CEOs to shutter 35 plants in the last several years and ignore market trends to satisfy short term investors. After all building profitable trucks and SUVs and letting your car lines rot into rental fleets takes will power. It is not as if no one knew gas was going to go up and keeping those nay-sayers at bay is laborious indeed. Let’s give credit where credit is due. The cost of living has gone up, with gas and all.
