Jay Leno takes delivery of first 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8

As May came to an end, Dodge shipped out the first 1,000 Dodge Challenger SRT8s to their rightful owners. The first 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 in the world was delivered today to Big Valley Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Van Nuys in California where owner Jay Leno took delivery of the 425-hp muscle car.

So does Jay Leno just walk into a dealership pick up his car and leave? Not at all. From the pictures, it seems like many people came out to watch Leno get behind the wheel of his new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Apparently LAPD was also on hand to provide security for Leno so we highly doubt he ripped the HEMI out of the dealership onto the LA streets.

No word on how much Leno cashed out for his black on black Challenger but we hope he shows it off in the next episode of “Jay Leno’s Garage.”
