Toyota to launch 6 new models in Germany in 2009

Toyota is planning a ‘massive’ introduction of new models in Germany by 2009. The Japanese automaker is facing an significant drop in the market share and hopes the addition of new models will boost the brand’s image.
According to German publication WirtschaftsWoche Toyota’s shares in the German market dropped 3.6 percent in the first quarter of 2008, a drop of 4.2 percent during the same period in 2007.
In 2009, Toyota will launch six new models along with nine upgraded existing models. Diesel engine and automatic transmission will be the focus of new models. The current Toyota Auris (pictured above) goes head-to-head with the Volkswagen Golf in Germany.
