Volkswagen Passat R36 Variant Concept gets more attitude

Volkswagen is dropping some very hot concepts at the 2008 GTI Meet this year. We first saw the Audi A3 TDI clubsport quattro concept followed by a second variant (closer to production) of the Audi TT clubsport quattro and earlier today, the Volkswagen Scirocco GT24. Now Volkswagen has revealed the Passat R36 Variant Concept which is basically the new Passat R36 with a little more attitude.

The Volkswagen Passat R36 Variant Concept gets larger tailpipes, six-piston Brembo brakes on the front and 20-inch wheels from the Touareg R-Line. The white and black two-tone interior gets Recaro race seats instead of the standard bucket seats.

Power comes from the same 3.6 liter V6 engine that produces 300-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Volkswagen clearly says that this just a design study but we wouldn’t be surprised to see some of these upgrades available through Volkswagen Individual program.
