Suzuki Kizashi 3 based mid-size sedan coming in 2009

While it’s only known for its tiny cars, motorcycles and its compact SUVs, Suzuki is now getting serious about larger cars and will be taking on Toyota’s Camry and Honda’s Accord as early as next year. According to CARandDRIVER, the Suzuki Kizashi 3 concept based mid-size sedan will arrive in late 2009 as a 2010 model year.

The production model won’t be a rebadged Daweoo and will be produced at Suzuki’s new factory that is currently under construction in Sagara, Japan.

For the entry-level version of the production Kizashi 3, power is expected to come from a 2.5 liter inline 4-cylinder engine while the range-topper will carry a 3.5 liter DOHC 24-valve V6 that will produce 260-hp. The latter is said to be derived from GM’s V6 found in the Cadillac CTS and Chevrolet Malibu.

Pricing wise the production model will start at $21,000 and could go up to $28,000 for the top-of-the-line model. The aggressive sleek looks of the Kizashi 3 concept are also expected to heavily influence the production model.
