Lamborghini will begin advertising details for its certified pre-owned program.

“The certified pre-owned program will be launched worldwide, starting in the U.S. and Europe,” said Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini. “We are now facing discussions with our dealers to work out the details.”

The new program is expected to give Lamborghini dealers more market to cover that is currently dominated by luxury brokers which buy high-end cars from private sellers or auctions.

“It is certainly ground breaking for a brand of this type to do what is typically more a gambit of the more mundane brands,” said Jack Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book.

Ferrari has been offering a pre-owned vehicles program in the U.S. since 2003 using a 190-point inspection process. Maserati also offers a certified pre-owned program in the U.S. giving buyers a one-year warranty or a total of 90,000 miles.
