The war between Tesla and Fisker continues today as Fisker Automotive files for an arbitration in a response to Tesla lawsuit which accused Henrik Fisker and Bernhard Koehler of fraud. The request was filed this morning in San Mateo Superior Court with hearings to be held on June 11.
Tesla’s lawsuit accused Henrik Fisker of breach of contract during their year-long collaboration in 2007 to design a Tesla Sedan called the WhiteStar which is due out in 2010. Fisker plans on bringing its own plug-in hybrid sedan to the market by 2009.
“For us, it’s simply a ridiculous suit,” Fisker said.
Tesla spokesman Darryl Siry did not have any comments on Fisker’s filing saying “Our suit is laid out pretty clear.”
Fisker said that it has already sold 500 orders for the 15,000 production run planned for 2009 after it showed the car at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show. The Fisker Karma hybrid will hit roads in the fourth-quarter of next year with pricing to start at $80,000.
