Lamborghini has created a separate sales arm for its North American operations headquartered in Los Angeles suburb of Santa Monica. This is Lamborghini’s first such business unit outside of its hometown in Italy.
In the beginning there was a big debate whether Lamborghini should open its U.S. headquarters on the West Coast or East Coast, however the importance of the California market helped Los Angeles become the home of the raging bull.
Lamborghini’s North American sales grew 41 percent in 2007 to a total of 2,406 units. California alone represented one-third of North American sales.
“California is where the future trends are. It’s where our PR agency is. It’s where many of our buyers are,” said Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
