Porsche 911 based 9ff GT9 supercar hits 254mph
We really have to say that 9ff is really slow in their process to take on the world record for the world’s fastest production car. We reported back in July of 2007 that the 9ff engineers were putting the finishing touches on their GT9 supercar, a 987+ horsepower Porsche 911.
Almost 9 months after it reported it was putting on the finishing touches, 9ff finally found time to hit up a track in Papenburg on April 10. 9ff engineers are claiming that the GT9 hit a top speed of 254mph beating the Bugatti Veyron.
That may be faster than a Veyron, but don’t get to excited 9ff. While you were in hiding for 8 months, something called the SSC Ultimate Aero happened and the number for you to beat now is 257mph. Also, just out curiosity, why did it take you guys at least a month to report this number?
The 9ff GT9 is powered by a 4.2 liter flat-six twin turbo engine that produces 987 horsepower giving it the ability to do 0-60 in the low 4 second range.
