I think this is actually BMW poking fun at the “crossover” SUVs. Most crossovers have no benefits what-so-ever over a car, yet they are still sold. They cannot tow, have little cargo room (hell, even a real SUV like the Tahoe has no room unless you pull out the third row seat), are not any safer considering how roll-over prone they are, and are neither sporty nor off road capable.

All they get is bad gas mileage. Thats it. Thats all you get for driving a crossover. And the X6 is a perfect attempt by BMW to point this out. Other automakers want to make crossovers a viable segment: BMW is trying to kill it before it starts, whether or not it knows it.

I have to say this car is for guys like me I like to sit up tall have a good driving position.
I dont need to carry more than 1 or sometimes 2 people at the same time.
So I would not be needing the space or cargo.
The only think I get worried is this x6 is not built in europe I just question the built quality and reliability of this car.

I saw the X6 at the dealer’s lot this weekend. I’ve never felt so confused and insecure at the same time. Luckily for me there was an M3 a few cars away, and I thought to myself…all is well.

I am confused – it’s a coupe? But it has 4 doors?

Regardless, the point is to jump on the CUV bandwagon I guess.

It’s perfect for people that drive an SUV/Crossover now, that don’t want a car and have no need to carry 7+ people. It’s perfect for the person that doesn’t want a car, likes to sit up tall (to see over the sea of SUV/Pick-ups) and has good taste in styling.

I hate SUV/Crossover and would prefer to buy a car, a hatchback or wagon. However, if I was going to buy SUV/Crossover, this would fit the bill for me…just needs to be about 1/2 the price.
