Bose offering full-feautred car media system with navigation

Bose has been providing high-end quality speakers for the automotive industry since the 1983 Cadillac Seville. Bose is now moving into a new market with a system that provides a full sound system, navigation, Bluetooth connectivity and a satellite radio.

Currently available only on the $264,000 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, the Bose Media System offers everything from naviagtion to a 30-gig hard drive that can store more than 200 CDs and USB 2.0 inputs for portable media.

Bose engineers kept the design very simple in order to keep drivers from being distracted from the road.

Bose is hoping to sell the system to other automakers other than Ferrari. But with many auto makers offering their own systems like the Ford Sync and Chrysler’s MyGig, we doubt any mass-production automaker would replace their in-house system with a Bose Media System. Hey, there is always Lamborghini, Spyker and Aston Martin.
