GM halts production of Outlook, Acadia and Enclave due to strike

Production of GM’S hot Lambda platform based crossovers came to a halt after UAW hourly workers went on strike last night at an interiors plant in Lansing, Michigan. About 65 UAW workers walked off their jobs at 9pm as a result of unsuccessful negotiations.
“We’d been at the negotiating table with Alliance since May 29, 2007 and still did not have a fair and equitable offer,” UAW said.
The Lansing, Michigan based plant makes interior carpets for GM’s three hottest SUVs/Crossovers including the Buick Enclave, GMC Acadia and the Saturn Outlook.
“We’ll continue to monitor the situation,” spokesman Dan Flores wrote to Automotive News. “We continue to discuss the issues with the UAW and hope to reach an agreement as soon as possible,” Flores wrote.
