Ford looking to sell 100,000 Flex crossovers annually

FoMoCo is looking to sell 100,000 units annually of the new Ford Flex. Jim Farley, Ford’s new vice president of marketing and communications believes that the 100,000 threshold is ‘absolutely’ possible for the 2009 Flex.

“That’s what we’re looking at production wise,” Farley told reporters at a recent press event.

The 2009 Ford Flex will go on sale later this summer starting at $30,000 with the most expensive model with all-wheel-drive priced at $37,255 before options.

If you remember, last month Farley said that Ford will market the Flex without focusing on its biggest potential customer; families. Farley said that Ford will instead try to pitch the crossover as a trendsetting vehicle for people wanting a “˜cool” and “stylish” ride. Do you think they’ll be able to sell 100,000 units that way?
