It has been reported that big shots at BMW have given the Isetta city car project the green light in an effort to reduce the average CO2 outputs from its vehicles to meet new EU targets. This is a recent photo rendering found on Flickr that takes a stab at what the upcoming minicar for BMW could look like.

BMW recently announced a new unit named Project i that will produce minicars. CEO Norbert Reithofer said that Project i will focus on dealing with strict emissions requirements and restricted access to towns and cities. Reithofer said that a fourth brand could be a possibility but no final decision has been taken as of yet.

For the Isetta micro car, BMW may use turbo petrol and diesel engines to help keep costs down.
