If Chrysler ever considers a global partner, as many analysts are suggesting the company should, Cerberus Capital Management would be the arm handling all the talks and deals.

Talking to reporters, Bob Nardelli said that he and his colleagues in the office such as Jim Press and Rom LaSorda are in charge of running Chrysler’s day-to-day operations. Cerberus, who now owns 80.1 percent of Chrysler, would be the dealmaker.

Nardelli was quick to tell reporters that no such talks are going on at the present time. However, Chrysler is pursuing regional alliances.

Currently Chrysler is working with Chery Automobiles in China on a wide range of products. The automaker also has a partnership with Nissan to manufacture a version of the Versa for sale in Latin America.
