Video: Pontiac takes stab at BMW in funny G8 GT advert

So you really can’t afford a 5-Series. Check out this new ad from Pontiac that tries to convince you that the G8 GT is a better buy than the BMW 5-Series and costs much less. Standing up against the $58,500 BMW 550i, the Pontiac G8 GT starts at $29,995. We really have to hand it to Pontiac on offering a cheaper BMW 550i alternative, even though the BMW is better in every way.

2008 Pontiac G8 GT: 6.0L V8 producing 361-hp.

2008 BMW 550i: 4.8L V8 producing 360-hp.

    Also, 0-60 times for the 550i have always been a few points of a second faster than the stated 0-60 in testing…. Pontiac doesn’t include that. They also claim they have a better interior: yet they still use materials more akin to cardboard than real wood and leather.

    G8- big family car, guzzles gas (this is now confirmed), and made by a terrible company.

    550i- big sports saloon, gets better gas, has better interior, better looks, and made by a company I wouldn’t mind taking it up the ass from.
