Ooo, we’re telling: InsideLine goes drag racing on their Nissan GT-R road trip

So yesterday we told you about the very lucky guys at InsideLine and a road trip of a life time in which they are covering 3,000 miles in 3 days in a Nissan GT-R. Basically they are driving from their LA office to Reno, Nevada where they will drop off Godzilla to Nissan engineers. However when Nissan engineer Bruce Robinson handed them the keys he strictly said: “But no testing. We’ll get you a production car for that in a few weeks.”
Well on their way to Reno, InsideLine decided to stop at Sacramento Raceway and instantly the car became the star of the night. And when it came time to make a pass, everyone and their mamas packed the stand to see what Godzilla was made of.
Editor Scott Oldham, who is behind the wheel, took the GT-R for quarter mile run in 11.8 seconds at 118.5 mph. InsideLine claims their best time was 11.5 seconds when they tested the JDM-spec GT-R in Japan.
We envy you InsideLine. And quite frankly, we would’ve done the same thing even if Nissan told us not to.
