So while we still wait on the hotter and faster version of the Focus, the Ford Focus RS, talks of the Fiesta RS have already begun. The previous-generation Fiesta RS was canned when Ford execs couldn’t make it economically viable but now thanks to the increased profitability Ford will now have a rival to the John Cooper Works MINI Cooper.

Power will come from a 1.6 liter turbocharged direct-injection EcoBoost engine producing upwards of 200-hp. The 0-60 sprint will come in around 6 seconds with a top speed of 140mph. AutoExpress says that the Fiesta RS may use a six-speed twin-clutch semi-auto gearbox with steering wheel-mounted paddleshifters.

The Ford Fiesta RS will be available in limited numbers and will follow shortly after the Focus RS. Of course, we still won’t get it on the stateside, but hey, at least we’re getting the Fiesta.
