Jim Farley, once Vice President of Marketing at Toyota, now VP of Marketing at Ford, could be next in line for CEO of Ford Motor Company. Mark Fields, President of Ford Americas is also in the running.

Joe Laymon, Ford HR boss, published the list in an interview with Automotive News. There are no plans for Mulally to leave Ford, Ford stresses. Mulally has promised to bring Ford to profitability by next year, a lofty goal with today’s market.

Mulally, at 62, is near retirement age, as it is rare for a Ford CEO to serve long past the age of 65. Farley and Fields are both in their mid-40’s. Four other Ford executives are also on the list of potential replacements.
