KITT Mustang GT 500KRs to be sold at Barrett-Jackson

Two 550 horsepower Shelby Mustang GT 500KRs used in the Knight Rider TV movie will be sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction on March 29th in West Palm Beach, Florida. However whoever wants to own a KITT will have to end up buying both since they will be auctioned off as a package.

Two versions of the cars are being sold including the “Super KITT” and the “Attack Mode KITT.” Both have been modified from their 4.6 liter V8s with upgraded FRC suspensions and Brembo brakes. The Super KITT also receives a Ford Racing Whipple supercharger that pushes the V8 to 500 horsepower, a fiberglass hood with a KITT heartbeat light, black Le Mans stripes and 20-inch forged-aluminum wheels.

Jack Rouch and an actor from the movie are expected to attend to help auction off the cars. Hmm, does that mean we won’t be seeing a TV series for the Knight Rider?

Both KITTS are street legal however the agreement includes limitations on the buyer’s promotional abilities.
