Challenger burn out

Well we all know how green everything was getting at the recent major auto shows, but don’t expect hybrids to take center stage for New York. Want proof? The Dodge Challenger will debut its 3.6liter V6 and 5.7liter V8 R/T variants. Hyundai’s Genesis coupe will debut in production form with a turbo four-cylinder somewhere over the 200-hp mark and a naturally aspirated 3.8liter V6 with 300-hp.

Pontiac’s G8 gets a Ute variant from Aussie-land with the GT’s V8 and the sedan gets a GXP variant pumping 402-hp out of an LS3 V8. Nissan’s Maxima brings sexy back, or at least the 4DSC logo [that's 4 door sports car for those of you who can't remember back past 1995].

Scion, Suzuki, Benz, Kia and Acura will be bringing some new toys as well. Stay tuned with us as we bring you live coverage from the New York International Auto Show starting Wednesday morning. The empire state is now the horsepower state.
