Ghosn: There will be no 4-door Nissan GT-R

Nissan’s CEO, Carlos Ghosn, recently shot down rumors of a 4-door version of the Nissan GT-R. Ghosn said that the rumor of a sedan GT-R is nothing more than speculation from overzealous bloggers. However, if you remember it was our trustworthy MotorTrend boys that reported the speculation citing a senior Nissan executive as their source.

It was reported in the beginning of February that Nissan is studying the possibility of a 4-door Nissan and may sell it under the Infiniti badge since the market may shy away from paying $85,000 for a car with a Nissan badge on it.

So how about a sexy looking Infiniti Q with the GT-R powertrain in it? Or even better, how about that Nissan GT-R SUV that we saw a while ago?

    That stinks.

I like the Infiniti sedan based on the GT-R, especially as the next Q. It would go head to head with the M5 and Quattroporte. A GT-R based SUV, the very idea should cause massive mental blackouts, however.
