BMW M’s Russian billboard with full size cars

BMW M's Russian billboard with full size cars

BMW bought a giant 65,000 square-feet billboard in the city of Moscow that is hanging full size M cars including the M3 Coupe, M3 Sedan, M6, M5 and others. The full-sized cars stuck on the billboard turn on their headlamps and taillamps in the evening.

While others are reporting that these may be real cars, we highly doubt BMW stuck real vehicles on a billboard rather than moving them out of the showroom. Especially since BMW probably paid out of the arse to purchase such a massive ad space.

Knight Rider to go into series production this fall

We really don’t know what NBC is thinking or whether they read what the viewers of the recent Knight Rider TV movie have been saying online. Granted the movie had strong ratings, but most of the viewers tuned into see what NBC writers had cooked up. Their opinions of the movie, however, differed from their excitement to watch the return of the KITT.

Nonetheless, the execs at NBC have greenlighted an ongoing Knight Rider series to debut this fall. The show has been given a possible timeslot of Friday night but that is subject to change during their Upfront presentation this coming Wednesday.

Police: Man fails to steal car because he couldn't drive a manual

Some people just don’t learn do they? Just after being released from jail on Tuesday morning, Frank Singleton, 21, made an attempt to carjack a woman’s Nissan 350ZX in the jail’s parking lot. Really, we’re not kidding. As if that wasn’t embarrassing enough, Singleton was unsuccessful at stealing the vehicle because he didn’t know how to drive a manual.

“There was a struggle. The guy was able to get the keys away from her and put them in the ignition, but it was a five-speed shift and he didn’t know how to drive it, and that’s why he couldn’t get away from the parking lot,” Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Paul Miller said.

Ford to market Flex as a stylish ride, not focusing on families

When the Ford Flex made its world premier last year at the New York Auto Show, it was said that the seven-passenger crossover would replace the dead Windstar minivan. Now with Jim Farley in charge of marketing, that’s all about to change - and to market the new Flex, FoMoCo will do so without focusing on its biggest potential customer; families.

The 2009 Ford Flex will go on sale this June, but when you start seeing the commercials on TV or the print ads in magazines don’t expect to see kids and dogs showing how roomy and comfortable the Flex is. Instead, Ford will try to sell the Flex as a trendsetting vehicle for people wanting a ‘cool’ and ’stylish’ ride.

“With the recession in the picture, ASMC must anticipate further sales declines,” Suzuki wrote.

Leno rejects NBC's offer to host Top Gear, thinks Americans will ruin it

Like everyone that probably reads this site, Jay Leno is a huge fan of Top Gear. While we don’t get it here on the U.S. on a weekly basis, it pops up here and there on BBC America and some other channels. We all know that NBC has bought the TV show to do an American spin off without Clarkson and the gang (which will be a total failure like the Knight Rider movie if you ask us). The network has considered everyone from Jerry Seinfeld to Adam Carolla.

And now NBC is after Jay Leno. Leno got a call from NBC the other day that went a little something like this:

So you think the minivan is dead huh? Think again

So you think the minivan is dead huh? Think again

Competition from Honda, Toyota and Chrysler knocked out GM and Ford out of the minivan segment over the past couple of years leaving the three automakers to eat up all the volume in minivan sales. All three get to split up the 700,000 units a year segment amongst themselves and they are enjoying it.

However, minivan sales have been declining in the recent years, especially due to alternatives like seven to eight seater SUVs and the popular crossovers. But some people want and will always need a van to haul their families and cargo around.

Le Mansory Bentley Continental GT spotted in the wild

Le Mansory Bentley Continental GT Spotted in the Wild

We’ve always wondered what all these tuner cars we write about look like on the road. Thanks to autoblog.nl, we now have pictures of the Le Mansory Bentley Continental GT hanging out on the streets.

Power comes from a 6 liter W12 engine with twin-turbochargers producing 641-hp. The 0-62mph sprint comes in at 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 205mph. The Le Mansory widebody kit includes complete new front spoiler integrated with LED daylights, extreme air intakes, new side and rear skirts with a new spoiler and carbon fiber elements.

Only 24 units of the Le Mansory Bentley Continental GT were made so this sighting is pretty exclusive.

Video: Pontiac takes stab at BMW in funny G8 GT advert

So you really can’t afford a 5-Series. Check out this new ad from Pontiac that tries to convince you that the G8 GT is a better buy than the BMW 5-Series and costs much less. Standing up against the $58,500 BMW 550i, the Pontiac G8 GT starts at $29,995. We really have to hand it to Pontiac on offering a cheaper BMW 550i alternative, even though the BMW is better in every way.

Usually when automakers look to increase production they do it by thousands of units. Well exclusive and prestigious automakers like Bugatti work differently. In order to increase production Bugatti could shorten the summer break at its Molsheim plant in France. Vacation will be reduced to one week from three weeks the executive said.

InsideLine gets pulled over again, washes and returns GT-R to Nissan

We’ve been writing about InsideLine’s 2009 Nissan road-trip here and there and quite frankly we’re pretty jealous of the Edmunds guys on this one. I mean it isn’t everyday Nissan engineer walks up to you and goes “hey why don’t you guys take the GT-R on a road trip from LA and drop it over to us in Reno.

Previously caught at 91mph in Sandy City, yesterday, InsideLine got pulled over again by Officer J. Travis Keel. This time the guys were doing 90mph on Highway 50 and were given a firm warning. Seems like no one really wants to ticket Godzilla.
