Ford’s expects Feb sales to drop by 10 percent

According to George Pipas, Ford sales analyst, sales could drop by around 10 percent in February. FoMoCo’s total sales dropped 3.9 percent in January while industry light-vehicles sales feel 4.1 percent.
“The retail business is not that strong” throughout the industry, Ford’s George Pipas said. While the automaker’s sales will be down from the previous year, Ford will “hold our own” on retail performance relative to the rest of the industry, Pipas said.
Automakers will announce their February sales on March 3.
“I think we can all agree: ‘08 is getting off to a pretty low start,” said Pipas.
