Spy Shots: Hyundai Genesis Coupe caught testing in the snow

Spies have caught the latest prototype of the rear-wheel-drive 2009 Hyundai Genesis coupe testing in the snow, along with some clear shots of the car’s interior revealing an automatic transmission with a manual-shift option. The production model is expected to debut at the New York Auto Show next month.

The concept Genesis Coupe was revealed at the LA Auto Show. John Karfcik, vice president of product development of Hyundai Motor America said that the car will “aim to deliver a driving experience that challenges cars like Infiniti G37, at prices more like Mitsubishi Eclipse.”

He later said that the Genesis Coupe will be offered with turbo power when it debuts in 2009. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe will also be available in a 3.8 liter V6 engine that is estimated to produce more than 300 horsepower. Estimated 0-60 time is said to be less than 6 seconds.
