Toyota’s Matrix and Corolla and Pontiac’s Vibe sport wagon are under investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after owners complained of the power windows getting stuck and even shattering in some cases.

The NHTSA has received over 503 complaints. According the NHTSA’s website the investigation may affect over 670,000 vehicles from the 2003 and 2004 model year. Drivers complained about the front power-windows getting stuck, making popping noises and shattering during operation. Over thirty injuries were reported.

GM and Toyota produce the three models under joint venture plant New United Motor Manufacturing.
