Nissan today announced that it is recalling 16,365 Nissan Murano and Infiniti EX 35 SUVs due to a problem in the passenger airbag.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the passenger airbag may fail to inflate in an accident because of incorrectly programmed software.

The recall affects 11,511 Nissan Muranos from the 2009 model year and 4,854 Infiniti EXs from the 2008 model year.
