Can't afford a Nissan GT-R? You may be able to lease one

Nissan of North America has told Inside Line that there will be a lease option on the 473 horsepower Nissan GT-R. That would make the supercar more affordable for the average consumer who is unable to finance the car for a full purchase Nissan, however, is still not offering any details on the lease program.

“There will be a lease option, but there are no concrete details,” Nissan’s North America Spokesman, Darryll Harrison, told Inside Line. “More information will be available in March or April, closer to the start of sales.”

“As you know, the GT-R is a supercar that will be sold in very low volumes and, as such, we anticipate that the vast majority of consumers will opt to buy the vehicle rather than lease,” he said.

Harrison also confirmed that a GT-R V-SPEC model is on the way but didn’t say if we’ll get it on the stateside.

Nissan hopes to sell 2,500 units of the GT-R for the U.S. next year with a starting price of $69,850. The premium model will run you $71,900.

This is too limited. It won’t flop as everyone will be fighting to get one but at the same time, it will be looked down upon for not being as available as it should have been.
This is the USA, plenty of people have the cash to lay down on cars. There is definitely a demand and Nissan doesn’t seem to want to measure up to it.

I wonder if it’s just so that Nissan make the car seem more unique and exclusive, which is dumb, as it can make tons of money by mass producing these.
