Audi RS5 and TTRS will arrive before the end of the decade

While Audi may be busy with the R8, RS 6 and the upcoming Q7 V12 TDI, the German auto maker is also busy planning the much-anticipated RS5 and the TTRS. According to sources at Auto Motor und Sport, the Audi TTRS will appear in auto shows sometime in September (Paris or Frankfurt Motor Show), and the RS5 will hit the market in late 2009.

‘High ranking sources from Audi in Germany’ say that the TTRS will get its power from a 2.3 liter FSI engine that produces 350 horsepower. Audi plans on introducing the TTRS in its American TT lineup in late 2009.

Details for the Audi RS5 are still sketchy. One recent speculation says that the V10 twin-turbo from the RS 6 may be a possibility. Our favorite speculation comes from Road&Track, who says the RS5 could carry the 5.2 liter V10 engine that produces 500 horsepower from the Gallardo. Others say that a 4.2 liter FSI producing 450hp or a naturally aspirated V8 from the RS4 producing 420 are likely possibilities.

Whatever the case, we are very excited about both models.
