Fisker's 'top secret' two-door convertible hybrid revealed

The Fisker Karma was definitely one of the highlights at this year’s Detroit Auto Show. Today, Henrik Fisker, owner of Fisker Automotive, revealed a ‘top secret’ photo of a future two-door, four-seat convertible hybrid at the J.D. Power Roundtable in San Francisco. Built on the same platform as the Fisker Karma lithium-ion plug-in hybrid sedan, the yet-to-be-named convertible hybrid will arrive at the same time as the Karma, which is estimated to hit the market in late 2009.

Based on the Maserati GranTurismo, the Fisker Karma pushes uses its Q-Drive plug-in hybrid technology to drive the first 50 miles on battery alone. Performance wise, the Karma does 0-60 in 5.8 seconds with a top speed of 125mph.

Fisker plans to begin production next year with an annual production of at least 15,000 units. Pricing is expected to start at around $80,000.
