Dodge expects to sell up to 30,000 Challengers, convertible in the works

Chrysler has already sold out of the 6,400 units of the Dodge Challenger SRT8 it produced. But according to Chrysler’s new Vice Chairman, Jim Press, Dodge is expected to sell 20,000 to 30,000 units of its retro-styled Challenger once the full model line goes on sale.
“There’s already a waiting list for 2009 models,” he added.
The 2009 Dodge Challenger lineup is scheduled to be released at the New York Auto Show next month with lower prices and less power. Pricing and powertrain lineup details will be given next month.
A convertible version of the Dodge Challenger is also possible.
