Afla Romeo will be coming back to the North American market in 2009 with the 8C Competizione. Until that relaunch is complete, select Maserati dealerships will start selling the 100 units of the 8C Competizione that are headed to our highways.
But when Alfa launches its other models, it will be looking to GM to use Cadillac’s Sigma platform for its new cars.
Word on the street is that Alfa is looking to move most of its models to a rear-wheel-drive platform including the Alpha Spider, the Brera Coupe, the 159 and the upcoming 169.

GAPING JAW MOMENT: Why in the blue hell, in the lowest, dampest, darkest pits of the most burning areas of hell, would Alfa Romeo want to taint its cars buy using ANYTHING used in a Cadillac-luster? OMG, have they not seen the XLR?
Whatever cars they build that are not on a Cadillac platform will be great, but I won’t even suggest anyone look at the Cadillac variants.

What’s wrong with Cadillac’s architecture? The XLR is built on a Chevy Corvette platform, but the new CTS and upcoming Mid-Size are on a really sweet platform so Alfa Romeo is doing something smart by saving on development costs by just buying the platforms from Caddy - shows what you know.
