Flying BMW M5 crashes into a tree, kills five

According to Florida Highway patrol, five young men were killed after their BMW M5 was airborne for 200 feet while speeding down a private airport runway and smashing into a tree.

The police said they do not know whether the vehicle was alone or was racing with another car. According to the investigation, the M5 ran off the 85-foot-high embankment at the end of the runway, flew 200 feet, and smashed into a large tree, splitting in half. Three of the five passengers were ejected from the car while two remained inside.

“It’s too early in the investigation to determine a speed and also to determine whether seat belts were in use at the time of the crash,” Burroughs said.

No names have been given as of yet but two of the five boys, ranging from ages 18 to 20, were from Ocala and two were from Fairfield and one was from Anthony.

The real question is who was dumb enough to buy a bunch of teenagers an M5. Its the same around where I live and parents let their kids drive old Corvettes: its death waiting to happen.

Seriously, it’s a shame when parents give cars that should be driven by seasoned drivers to novices an dbeginners who just can’t andle it, and want to show it off to their friends. Too bad their friends aren’t around to say how stupid this guy was – people, let’s take a lesson from these teens.
