A group of select readers of Car and Driver were chosen to help the magazine select the front cover for its April issue featuring the 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 and the Pontiac G8 GT, which is on the boats right now headed for Cali. Anyway we’re not sure how these images got out but AutoBlog posted them earlier this morning.

We now have confirmation that the 6.1L HEMI V8 will produce an outstanding 425 horsepower for this retro beast. We should be getting a press release from Chrysler anytime soon (maybe next week). Other than that you’ll have to wait until the 2008 Chicago out show to see the Dodge Challenger SRT8 in person.
