Rumor has it that Ford will bringing a European model over to the Chicago Auto Show which will go on sale in the U.S. a year later. But don’t get too excited because it’s not the Ford Ka or the Ford Mondeo, or even the Ford S-Max.
According to TheCarConnection, Ford is expected to introduce the Transit Connect to the North American market at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show in February. While Ford itself has not confirmed anything, sources say that the Transit Connect will be sold in the U.S. as a 2009 model and will come from FoMoCo’s plant in Turkey.
The Ford Transit Connect, which will be pitched as Dodge Sprinter rival, is a front-wheel-drive can powered by a four-cylinder engine.
Sales are expected to start in the fall.
