The right to own the first Dodge Challenger SRT8 with a #1 plaque on the front, identifying it as the first Challenger to roll of the production line, sold for $400,000 today at the Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale. Unfortunately, Dodge didn’t roll up in Scottsdale with the production version of the Challenger, rather they showed the concept to the highest bidder.

Guess we’ll have to wait until the Chicago Auto Show in February. Pricing for the Challenger SRT-8 will start at $37,995 plus a gas guzzler tax of $2,100 when it hits dealerships in April.
