Detroit Auto Show: Up-close-and-personal with Mustang’s glass roof option

We were pretty excited when we learned that Ford will be showing the new KITT at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show; and then we were pretty pissed off to learn that they decided to show the KITT only on public days. So we went down to the Mustang display to check out if they had anything interesting out.

Besides the Mustang Bullitt, Ford was showing off their glass-roof option for the V6 Mustangs and Mustang GT. Cost for the option starts at $1,995, but that’s still less than going for a convertible, so don’t feel too bad.

Made of tinted privacy glass, the new glass roof reduces both infrared rays and vehicle cool-down time by 50 percent. A manual roller blind is built in for extra sunny days.
