Audi may bring Q7 diesel to U.S. earlier than expected

Audi has plenty of diesels in the works, the most extravagant being the R8 V12 TDI. The question remains when will we see them in the US, though. Well with Mercedes-Benz already offering one and soon many more and BMW introducing its diesels here to the US later this year, Audi seems to have just gotten its wake up call.
Audi will bring its diesels starting with the Q7 diesel sometime this year to coincide with its counterparts. Audi realized the buzz surrounding the Mercedes and BMW diesels would make an earlier introduction much better.
Audi had originally hoped to introduce hybrid and diesel Q7 variants and the Q5 in early 2009 enabling them to badge them 2010 models.
Expect the Q7 TDI to have a 3.0-liter V-6 motor pumping 230 hp and 400lb-ft of torque.
