Detroit Auto Show: Ferrari 430 Spider BioFuel – Italy does the ethanol thing

Ferrari has revealed an ethanol based Italian stallion at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show called the 430 Spider BioFuel. Currently in concept form (and will probably remain in that form forever) the 430 Spider BioFuel runs on E85.
Everything is a plus for this Ferrari – horsepower has been increased by 2 percent for a total of 500hp, torque has been increased by 4 percent and fuel-consumption is down 5 percent. While that may sound all fine and dandy, Ferrari has not decided whether they will be offering the 430 Spider BioFuel as a production model since E85 is unavailable in most areas where Ferrari’s are sold.
However Ferrari emphasizes that it has proved that it can offer the technological solutions demanded by the market without compromising performance of their vehicles that they build at Maranello.
