Nissan begins taking GT-R orders in the U.S.

So it’s finally 2008 and we hope you had a very Happy New Year. As reported before, Nissan is ushering in the New Year with the new Nissan GT-R. If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on the first GT-R to ever be sold in North America, head over to your local Nissan dealership because the Japanese automaker is now taking orders.

Nissan will be producing only 12,000 units of the GT-R in 2008, 6,000 of which are for the Japanese market. 1,500 units will make their way to the stateside with a starting price of $69,850. The premium model will run you $71,900.

The Nissan GT-R is powered by a 3.8 liter V6 engine that produces 473 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 mph takes a quick 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 192 mph.
