We brought you some spy shots of the Jaguar XF-R late last month confirming that it will produce close to 500 horsepower. After being confirmed in the latest episode of Top Gear, Motor Trend has dug up some information on the naughtier kitty.
According to Motor Trend sources, power will come from a 5.0 liter V8 sharing certain architecture with the current AJV8 engine. That should result in at least 500 horsepower. The transmission will stay as the ZF six-speed automatic with paddle shifters as on the XKR, but a little bit more modified.
The Jaguar XF-R will come standard with 20 inch light alloy wheels, upgraded brakes, stiffer suspension tuning, a louder exhaust and a sportier interior trim. Setting it apart for the other XFs, the XF-R will have less chrome, a wire-mesh front grillework, more aggressive front and rear fascias, rear lip spoiler and a reduced ride height. The care will make its debut as a 2009 model in mid-2008. Pricing is expected to come in just under $80k.
