2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo pricing announced

At the 2007 LA Auto Show when we spoke to the Mitsubishi PR they told us that the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo GSR will carry a price tag around $30k while the Evo MR will start around $36k. Well, Mitsubishi has announced the estimated pricing for the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and it seems like the Evo is going up market.

For the base GSR model with a five-speed manual transmission, pricing is estimated at $34,000. The range topping MR model with the new Twin Clutch-Sequential Sportshift Transmission begins at $39,000.

Officials say that these are conservative estimates at the moment and are hoping that the final pricing will come in $1,000 less for each model.

The previous Lancer Evo IX sedan started at $28,679 and went up to $35,189 for the MR trim.

The new 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR and MR are both powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC MIVEC engine that produces 295 horsepower and 300 ft-lbs. of torque.
