Ford sales rise in November – first monthly gain in a year

FoMoCo’s bad luck may be coming to an end. In November, Ford had its first monthly gain in a year, a 0.6 percent gain from 2006. Ford sold a total of 182,096, up from 180,947 the same month last year.
However for the first 11 months of 2007, Ford’s sales dropped 12.1 percent to 2,348,278 vehicles, compared with the first 11 months of 2006.
According to Ford, November numbers were driven by strong sales of the Ford Edge and the Lincoln MKX crossover. The new 2008 Ford Focus helped the Focus model post an 18 percent gain while Ford Fusion sedan was up 39 percent.
“It is encouraging to see our newest cars, crossovers, hybrids and industry-first Sync technology resonating with customers,” Mark Fields, Ford’s president of the Americas, said in a statement.
