Chrysler to help VW build minivan for the U.S.

Chrysler will be helping German auto maker Volkswagen, build a minivan for sale in the U.S. and Canadian market. The new Volkswagen minivan will produce alongside Chrysler’s Town & Country and the Dodge Caravan at the company’s Windsor plant.

The Volkswagen minivan which will make its debut at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show in February will share Chrysler’s fifth-generations platform but will still have Volkswagen’s style and appearance.

The new Volkswagen minivan will be the company’s first serious entry into the U.S. minivan market after selling the EuroVan in the U.S. in 2003.
