Future ‘Junior’ Alfa to be called ‘Furiosa’

Alfa’s upcoming baby hatchback will be called the ‘Furiosa,’ which means ‘Furious’. The car, which is code-named “Junior,” will be an entry-level car for Alfa and will compete with the likes of Mini Coopers. Engine specs will with a 1.4 liter Multiair unit that produces 105 horsepower followed by a range of turbocharged variants including outputs of 135 horsepower, 180 horsepower and a whopping 230 horsepower.

The name was chosen in a European contest polling readers of such magazines as Quattroruote, Auto Motor und Sport, Top Gear, L’Automobile, Autopista and Japan’s Car Graphic.  All of which we’re sure you get in the mail, right?

Furiosa was picked over such names as Ventura, Sparvo, Mod, Eno, Nevo, Fira, Agea, Solea, Velvetta, Milo and Everso.

So the new Alfa is Furious, question is, is it Fast?
